One
significant instance that impressed me in the movie was about the spiritual
lessons that Narendra Modi got from a Saint in the Himalayas. Narendra Modi leaves to the Himalayas in quest of an answer
about the world and himself. At the
Himalayas, he meets a Saint and seeks
guidance on his life’s direction. The Saint
says that he will ask questions every day based on which he would give his
judgement in the end. Three responses of
Narendra Modi to the questions of the Saint is the basis for his commitment to
the people and the Nation. For a
question on crossing the river, Modi opts
to take a boat as he can take many people with him rather than walking alone on
waters, the second was about cutting of an old tree, and collecting seeds of
the tree to grow new trees and the third is about how he hands over a knife by
holding the blade so that the other person does not get hurt. In response to the course of action chosen by
him, the saint identifies that he is a person who lives for others. He brings
the distinction between a Karma Yogi and a Jnana Yogi. He judges that he who seeks to live must perform Karma and
that he who does not must give up all desires. He directs modi to take path of
an activity rather than the path of renunciation. This provides Modi greater clarity and the way
he has to align himself with the world.
Modi in his interviews has said that he had revelations during his
travel and he returned home with clarity and with a guiding force which lead
his way to serve the nation.
In
one of his interviews Modi has said "I realised that we're all tied down
by our thoughts and limitations. When you surrender and stand in front of the
vastness -- you know that you're a small part of a large universe”. Also in his
recent speech after winning the elections, he calls himself as a Fakir. Modi is
able to transcend all the challenges, as he had these experiences of oneness
with the Universe. All of us are fortunate to have such an exceptional person
who has a spiritual foundation as a guiding force to lead the Nation.
